With the outbreak of corona virus in India, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared lockdown of whole Nation for 21 days. 21 is the the number of days that takes for any person to inculcate a new habit; follow something deligently for 21 days and it'll become a habit by the end of 21 days. When I was in school there used to be Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) where it was said that to learn something and make it as an habit we have to do the same thing at same time daily for 21 days. By doing it for 21 days, our mind will register it in the subconscious memory and you will do it involuntarily on 22nd day without any reminder to remind you to do the work.
I started waking up early at 5:30 to go to terrace and do some exercise and meditate while enjoying the sun rise. For this, I took the help of my brother who is a morning person from his childhood and I was quite opposite to him.
I also had the habit of drawing and now I am trying to improve my skills at it.
My brother is very good in photography and he is also an enthusiastic person who is always ready to teach whatever I want. So I asked him to teach me how to take good photographs and as expected he taught me from the very basics of how to control shutter speed, aperture, and ISO to click the best shot. Now that I have learned the basics of photography, I go to terrace in the evenings too and click pictures. I take feedback from my brother and ask him for any improvements.
There are a lot of things we always want to learn but ignore them saying we don't have time. Amidst these trying times, we have got sufficient time to inculcate a new habit. So let's not waste it and try to improve ourselves by inculcating a new habit instead of roaming out and contracting the disease.
